A weekend full of family fun hosted by El Teatro Campesino!

November 3-5 | ETC Playhouse | Free Outdoor Procession on Nov. 4 & 5th.

El Teatro Campesino Presents its 2017 Dia De Los Muertos Celebration and Procession. Our annual program kicks off on the playhouse stage with special live music and dance performances by the Folkloric dance group Esperanza del Valle.

  • Join our Free Street Procession as we present an original musical play, beginning at our playhouse parking lot and making its way through our historic town.
  • The weekend Celebration promises to be full of music, laughs and spiritual offerings. Don’t miss our Community Altar Exhibit featuring beautiful altars commemorating the life of loved ones passed on.
  • Enjoy performances inside the ETC Playhouse from Watsonville folkloric dance group, Esperanza del Valle! (Tickets on sale now).
  • Plus, travel with El Teatro Campesino performers through the streets of San Juan Bautista for two very special street processions (Free to the public!)
  • And walk through our exhibits of community altars celebrating our dearly departed. (On display inside the ETC Playhouse.)

About:

“If the last 50 years have taught us anything, it is that theater is a creator of community, and that community is the creator of theater. You are our community and our familia. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Alcario and Carmen Castellano, and all of you- our donors and supporters -a new era of El Teatro Campesino is about to begin in celebration of our 50th anniversary!”
– Luis Valdez
