Join us for this uplifting virtual celebration featuring poetry readings, a musical performance by Gabriela Sepulveda, and recognition of Latina leaders making a difference in our community.

Modern Latina recognizes that mothers are the heart of the family and our community, and as part of its Quince celebration, will be honoring a mother who has made their family a priority and demonstrated exemplary service to their community with the “Madre Award.”

Don’t miss the special performance by Gabriela Sepulveda, a Latin singer, songwriter, and actress. Gabriela began her career at the age of 8 after performing at her school’s talent show.

Gabriela released her 1st single, “Ya No Te Quiero,” in 2012, and her 2nd single “Pero Nadie,” released in 2014, won “Song of the Year” in the World Category at the Josie Music Awards.

Gabriela participated in national and international television shows including La Voz Kids USA, Sábado Gigante, Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, and American Idol Season XV. Gabriela made her acting debut for the Telemundo series, “Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio” where she played Jenicka Lopez, the youngest daughter of Mexican-American singer, Jenni Rivera.

We are so excited to announce our Chingona Award recipient, Sarahi Espinoza Salamanca, Founder of DREAMers Roadmap.

During COVID-19, Sarahi started the #FirstOfTheMonth Fund, an emergency relief fund to help close to 150 families in East Palo Alto pay their rent. Sarahi has also been leading donation drives to provide farmworkers with essential supplies during COVID-19. Rosanna Alvarez, founder of Hella Chingona podcast, will interview Sarahi.
