We're 11% of population, 64% of all Latinos, and are still growing strong!

 

Mexican-Origin Hispanics in the United States:

A record 33.7 million Hispanics of Mexican origin resided in the United States in 2012, according to a new analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Research Center.

Study: Latinos continue to grow, Mexicans continue to dominate.

 

Latinos continue to grow as a population in the U.S., Mexican Americans in particular continue to dominate this group, but growth is moving beyond traditional states like California and Texas into new ones like South Carolina and Kentucky.

More than half of Californians are Latino or Asian—and they vote.

75% of Bay Area Hispanics are Mexican. The 2nd largest group is El Salvador at 8%.

The Latino population is spread out through the Bay Area, but have largest populations in San Jose, in The Peninsula the cities of Redwood City, East Palo Alto, South San Francisco, East Bay cities namely Oakland, Richmond, Concord and Antioch, and in Sonoma County.

San Francisco's Mission District is home to a thriving Mexican American community, as well as many residents of Salvadoran and Guatemalan descent.
