The San Francisco International Arts Festival, the Central American Resource Center, Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and the cast of PLACAS want to know about your tattoos.

About:

More specifically we want to know why you got your tattoo(s) and of what significance it/they are to you. And we would like to record your story on video for posterity.

We have commissioned video journalist Josue Rojas to make a video as a companion piece to the play PLACAS starring Ric Salinas of Culture Clash that will premiere at the Lorraine Hansberry Theater on September 6.

So on Saturday August 18 starting at 6:30pm we will be hosting a party at Mission Cultural Center and we are turning the theatre into a film studio where Salinas, playwright Paul Flores and the cast of PLACAS will be interviewing members of the public about their tattoos or the removal of them.

Note: The party is free to enter and open to the public (we will accept donations!). But if you would like to be one of the people chosen for interview on camera you must RSVP prior to the day of the event.

This fiesta helps to promote PLACAS: THE MOST DANGEROUS TATTOO

The evening will also feature the chance to hang out with the cast of PLACAS and get an inside scoop on the new production, groove to the turntable stylings of DJ Aztec Parrot, see tattoo demonstrations, and enjoy great food, drinks and lots more.

So join us for a party and to tell the story behind your most prized tattoo.

Participants will also receive discount tickets to the performance of PLACAS, September 6 – 16, 2012. For more info about PLACAS: The Most Dangerous Tattoo, please visit www.sfiaf.org
