1st Annual Semillas Project Scholarship Fundraiser // San Jose

The Foundation for Hispanic Education is excited to cordially invite you to the First Annual Semillas Project Scholarship Fundraiser.

Please join us to celebrate the successes of our Foundation students by sponsoring and attending the Semillas Fundraiser, which will unveil their Digital Media Art Projects and feature emcee Rick Najera (writer, comedian, author) in conversation with the Semillas Scholars.

The festive affair will also include Hor d’oeuvres, a Silent Auction, and Keynote Speaker Actor Antonio Jaramillo (Savages, Dallas, The Line).

The night will conclude with acclaimed veteran Actor Luis Guzman (Code Black, Carlito’s Way, Boogie Nights) being presented with The Semillas Humanitarian Award by The Foundation for Hispanic Education.

The Semillas Project

The Semillas Project is an After-School Enrichment Digital Media course that engages underserved learners at the secondary level for The Foundation for Hispanic Education’s three charter high schools. All content was created in conjunction with program development partners the Silicon Valley American Diabetes Association and iHeart Media, Inc.

The Foundation for Hispanic Education

The mission of The Foundation for Hispanic Education is to provide leadership in the education and resources of English Language Learners (ELL) and the development of specialized training programs for teachers of English Language Learners by supporting existing programs to ensure continued achievement, creating and supporting teacher training programs specifically directed at underachieving ELL students, and providing Information and direction in attaining sufficient financial aid to support post-secondary education admission and retention.
