2 day festival:

TWO DAY FESTIVSAL starts Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st!

In 2015 the Cultural television Channel of México (Canal Cultural de México), channel 22 turned 22 years! And, as a celebration, the channel premiered “Grandes Figuras del Arte Mexicano” (Great Figures of Mexican Art), a series of documentaries dedicated to national figures whose work transcended the boundaries of time and space.

MCCLA is proud to announce the international premier of “Frida Kahlo: Entre el Dolor y El Placer,” a biographical documentary about the life and work of Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. Throughout nearly an hour we can enjoy this research where fundamental characters appear in the interpretation of what is Frida Kahlo today. Some of the participants in the documentary include: Hayden Herrea, the most prominent biographer of the artist, the singer Lila Downs, and the director of the Frida Kahlo Museum, Hilda Trujillo, among others. ENGLISH SUBTITLES!

In addition, we will introduce the Fridas Fiestas 2016 July festival organized by its founder Erika Guzman. Members of the audience will enjoy special performances by international artists and local business including The Frida’s Closet. There will be vendors, art sale, and lino cut printmaking.
