Huarango is a contemporary proposal of Afro-Peruvian music with influences of jazz, classical and funk. Anchored in the strong presence of Afro-Peruvian percussion: Cajon, Cajita and Quijada de Burro (donkey´s jawbone); instruments that are part of the history of this population and have manifested themselves as symbols of resistance for African descendants in Peru.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Huarango is a new musical project born in the city of Oakland, California, based in Afro-Peruvian musical roots and the cultural heritage of its people. Huarango has the purpose of being an agent of diffusion of Afro-Peruvian culture in the San Francisco Bay Area.
