July 12: Lights for Liberty Protest of Detention Camps/Centers.
Morgan Hill, California. Monterey Rd and Tenant Ave.
6 p.m. On Friday July 12th, 2019.
The children’s declarations and eyewitness accounts are why we gather in more than 780 places around the globe on Friday night, July 12th, to shed light on the atrocities being committed in US detention camps.
We’re in this until all the camps are closed.
At 6:30 p.m. we will march to the ICE office, located at 220 Vineyard Avenue, where community leaders will speak!
Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Detention Camps will bring thousands of Americans to detention camps across the country, including Morgan Hill’s own ICE office.
Join SURJ South County (Showing Up for Racial Justice), the Rapid Response Network of Santa Clara, CARAS (Community Agency for Resources Advocacy and Services) and other local community leaders at 6 p.m., at the intersection of Monterey Rd. and Tenant Avenue.
Let’s unite for a vigil to protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees under the Trump Administration’s cruel policies and to protest the ICE office’s presence in the Morgan Hill community. https://www.facebook.com/events/896054937394049/
#LightsforLiberty now has 780+ worldwide vigils scheduled for tomorrow night – Friday, July 12th.
We stand with all who object to this administration’s criminalization of Black and brown people in detention camps.
Asylum is a human right.
