Los Hermanos Arango hail from Guanabacoa, a municipality in Cuba characterized by a high level of musical and afro-religious tradition. Los Hermanos Arango offers a diverse palette of authentic afro-folkloric rhythms and chants merged with intricate, yet accessible jazz.

Biography:
The Arango family brings more than 30 years of combined touring experience performing Cuban music and jazz of the highest caliber around the globe.

Formed in 2003, Los Hermanos Arango involves the seamless combination of Afro-Cuban folklore and funkified jazz, which renders a new genre: Folklo-Jazz. The instrumental format integrates vocals, harmony (keyboards, bass and guitar), horns, and percussion in the form of an authentic battery of ancient Afro-folkloric drums.

The group presents rhythms that have developed roots in Cuba and originate in West Africa. They highlight the Yoruba, Bantú (Congo), and Carabalí (Abakuá), as well as Rumba and other popular rhythms. The style is distinctive, raw, and original. The group continues to share their culture with world-renowned musicians in their of Guanabacoa, Cuba while they travel the world performing in Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Mexico and the United States.

Los Hermanos Arango has released six albums and two documentaries. Their album, Oro Negro, received two Cubadisco awards while their album, Los Hermanos Arango y Las Estrellas del Folklor, received three while their album released in 2017, The Arango’s World, received three Cubadisco award nominations. Their latest album, Bendita Guanabacoa, is also nominated for three awards.
