Come celebrate the release of Mónica María’s debut album “Nuevos Caminos.”
Combining the sounds of Mónica María’s Californian roots with traditional instruments and rhythms of Latin America, “Nuevos Caminos” is innovative musically while expressing themes of love, compassion, and of holding appreciation for self, others and the earth.

La Mezcla will be opening the evening with excerpts from Vanessa Sanchez’s “Pachuquísmo.” Through elaborate rhythmic arrangements and choreography, performances by La Mezcla cross musical genres and dance styles. La Mezcla’s work is rooted in Chicanx, Latinx and Indigenous traditions and social justice, and members include Tap dancers, Mexican Zapateado dancers, Jazz musicians and Son Jarocho musicians.
