***********ALL LEVELS CLASS***********
In 1999 Jimmy began to take salsa lessons from instructors in the bay area. Rather than sticking to just one instructor, he educated himself with classes from a variety of instructors very early on. Lessons offered from dancers such as Josie Neglia, Alex D’Silva, Jake Jacobs, and Jean-Carlo helped shape a dance style that was unique to him.
Since August 2002, Jimmy has been an instructor of Salsa and Bachata dance at his startup non-profit, J Smooth Salsa. Based at the Miraido Studio in San Jose, he has made many contributions to his community by offering free dance lessons, donating time and money to various organizations, participating in youth guidance programs, and supporting many of his peer dance instructors through assistance or advertising.
In 2007 Jimmy began to take Bachata lessons from Bachata pioneer Rodney Rodchata Aquino. The years of experience have enabled to dance all forms of Bachata which include Dominican, Modern, and Traditional while teaching his own style of Bachata.
Now a seasoned dance instructor and entrepreneur, Jimmy devotes his attention to event management and guest dance instructions.

DSANTOS DANCE CA is an Afro-Latin partner dance school in the California Bay Area, hosting weekly classes and events. Our focus is building community. Founded by Tyler and Misha, we love sharing the joy of partner dancing through Salsa, Kizomba, Bachata, Semba, Kuduro and more. We are an affiliate of Kizomba Canada, creatively inspired by our mentor Manuel Dos Santos, also known as Dr. Kizomba – the epic dance legend himself. Be inspired!
Tyler has been a dancer since 2002 where he started as a social Salsa dancer, who’s weekly persistence in classes and social dancing brought him into teaching in 2007. He is the director and owner of Dsantos Dance CA, and before that he also founded Dsantos VT in Vermont, which is still a thriving dance community. Tyler is an active part of Kizomba Canada’s professional international performance team, lead by Manuel Dos Santos. Tyler has taught weekly classes in Salsa for 10 years and Kizomba for 5 years, plus hosted monthly socials and workshops, and taught at schools, company events, and parties. He believes that success comes from building an inclusive dance environment and encouraging every student to achieve their individual goals, all while having a lot of laughs.
Misha began studying dance at the age of 4, focusing on ballet and modern. Dance for her is about the transformation and empowerment that comes from movement and body awareness. In college she studied modern dance intensively and performed frequently. But she found her true dance home when she discovered Dsantos VT – where she fell in love with both the community fostered by the Dsantos Dance schools, and the art of following. In 2015 she joined the Kizomba Canada professional performance team, and has performed with them around the world. In 2016 she founded Dsantos Dance CA with Tyler, and loves adding to the Northern CA dance community with the Dsantos Dance mission and Afro-Latin dance genres.
