We invite you to join us at the West Oakland Youth Center — a neighborhood that has been ground zero for the displacement crisis in the City.

“I’m a fighter against gentrification. I don’t want this to happen to anyone they way it happened to me. Even if you live in your dwelling for a number of years, it’s not guaranteed that you can stay.” –Mustafa Solomon, CJJC member who lived in North Oakland for 18 years until he was pushed out.
Here are some of the HIGHLIGHTS:
- 9:50-10:40 AM – Opening panel on the intersections of displacement, featuring Servant B.K. Woodson of Faith Alliance For A Moral Economy, Sylvia Lopez of Mujeres Unidas y Activas, and Darwin Bond-Graham of the East Bay Express
- 1:10-2:10 PM – Workshops on community-led campaigns to stop displacement, win equitable housing and worker policies, and create inclusive communities
- 2:30-3:05 PM – “My commitment to fighting displacement” closing plenary, featuring participant reflections and plans for action
