[tv] Trump’s Showdown // KQED

Don’t miss Trump’s Showdown — a two-hour documentary that methodically reveals how an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election has grown to threaten Donald Trump’s presidency.

From filmmaker Michael Kirk and his team, Trump’s Showdown goes behind the headlines that have dominated the news for months — taking you inside President Trump’s unprecedented war with the special counsel, the FBI and even his own attorney general. Tracing key moments in the ongoing battle, the film is a must-watch look at a political struggle of historic proportions — and what’s at stake.

Premiering October 2nd at a special time, 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST, Trump’s Showdown draws on more than 60 in-depth interviews with former heads of U.S. intelligence agencies, Trump insiders, attorneys, authors and journalists. You’ll be able to explore many of those interviews online tonight, when we also publish the latest installment of our FRONTLINE Transparency Project: an interactive version of the film that allows users to see quotes from interview subjects in their original context.

The Baltimore Sun says Trump’s Showdown “is as good as long-form, non-fiction television gets,” and The Globe and Mail praises the way the documentary “brings coherence to an incoherent narrative.”
