Canelo Alvarez Donates $1,000,000 to Cancer Treatment Center for Kids

The champ donated more than 900 medical kits to fight COVID-19 to the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara in May.

These donations are directed towards low-income cancer patients and their families treated in public hospitals.

Saul Alvarez just went a step further to prove his greatness to the world. The four-division champion recently retweeted and reshared a children’s cancer treatment center’s post on social media.

The social media post stated that the pound-for-pound king had donated $1 million to the center and they thanked him for the same. Alvarez acknowledged the post on his own feed.

Here’s how you can help the kids at ‘Nariz Roja’.

Much like Canelo Alvarez, even you can lend out a helping hand to the kids at Nariz Roja or ‘Red Nose’.

You can donate an amount of your choice through PayPal on this civil association’s website page.

According to the Nariz Roja website, your donations could help with material, economic, shelter, psychological assistance, accompaniment and games in hospitals, donation of blood and / or platelets.

These donations are directed towards low-income cancer patients and their families treated in public hospitals.

Canelo Alvarez’s million dollar donation to cancer treatment for children is not just another donation made by another big name.

The Mexican p4p king truly cares about these kids; he has helped out the civil association ‘Nariz Roja’ or ‘Red Nose’ in the past as well.

Following a Twitter post about shortage of necessary medication, Saul did not think twice before donating a big check and also giving out autographed gloves for raising even more money for the kids through auctions.

Even outside the ‘Red Nose’ circle, Canelo Alvarez keeps his feet stuck to homeground in Guadalajara in Mexico. He even came through as the COVID-19 outbreak gripped the world initially in early 2020.

Following his donation towards this cause, the WBC even congratulated Canelo –

“The WBC congratulates “Canelo” not only for being an exemplary champion, but for having a big heart and supporting those who really need it most”. [source: essentially sports].
