Biography:

Gladys “Bobi” Céspedes has shaped the rich and lively Afro-Cuban cultural scene in the San Francisco Bay Area for close to 50 years, as a leader, singer, musician, and composer.

Her music combines Cuban folkloric and modern elements in an authentic and distinctive sound guiding audiences through a journey from Yoruba incantations to the Cuban son. Along the way she shares stories of family life and love, and the teachings found in Afro Cuban folklore and fables.

Bobi Céspedes’ electrifying ensemble features some of the Bay area’s finest Latin Jazz musicians:
