Carnaval San Francisco celebrates 45 Years of Music and Movement!

Join us for an action-packed and joyous competition to crown the King and Queen of Carnaval’s 45th Anniversary! Showcasing the best music, dance and artistry of Latin American, Caribbean and African Diasporas as contestants’ bring their vibrant spirit to the stage.

Cheer for your favorite performer and be part of San Francisco history!

About KQED Live:

KQED Live is a new multiplatform event series that brings journalism to life onstage, amplifies local culture and builds community. Hosted in KQED’s newly reimagined San Francisco headquarters, KQED Live makes the mission of public media tangible through affordable and free live programs offered in-person and accessible online.

Contest winners will serve as the Official Ambassadors at the Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade, be featured with their own float in the parade, and win a $500 cash prize!

The winners of the Carnaval San Francisco King & Queen competition may be featured on TV, radio, newspaper and websites throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

The Carnaval reign is for one (1) year. King & Queen will frequently appear at Carnaval-sponsored events throughout the year.
