In honor of Frida Kahlo’s birthday month, VIVA FRIDA will be hosting a beautifully curated dinner party at the Chinampa Gardens of the Mexican Heritage Plaza this July. We invite you to take a seat at our Mexican themed dinner table with friends and familia. To create the perfect ambiance, the dinner table will be set using a colorful palette and adorned with fresh flowers, fine linen, Mexican dishware, and vibrant cloth napkins. Guests will enjoy gourmet dishes along with fine Mexican wines and indulge in an enhanced dining experience. Live mariachi music will play in the background as Frida enthusiasts marvel at creative Frida inspired works from local artists and arts and crafts vendors. Visual artists will also offer guests an exclusive behind the scenes experience of a Frida Kahlo themed photoshoot. We are excited to once again, create a space where we share our love for art, our passion for Frida Kahlo and our appreciation of our culture so put together your favorite Frida inspired outfit and add flowers to your hair because their will be plenty of spectacular moments and selfies to capture at this one of kind event. *Participating Mexican Owned Wineries Include: Surcos Family Wines Solorio Family Wines Don Chalo Cellars Seis Soles Wine Co. Honrama Cellars Vinos Unidos Ortega Family Wines *Special appearance by Celia Stahr, professor and author of Frida in America: The Creative Awakening of a Great Artist. Her book has been named on of the ten top arts book of 2020 by Booklist. She will offer a special talk about her 10 years of meticulous research and works behind this incredible book that highlights Frida Kahlo’s art and life. Stahr will sign books, which will be available for purchase. * Special collaborations with the talented fashion designer Paulina’s Clothing and renowned photographer and videographer Gus Mejia. We have some fun surprises planned that you wont want to miss. * A select group of artists and artisanal vendors will showcase and sell their Frida creations. We have an incredible line up of talented vendors.
