About film festival:
Cine+Mas presents the 15th San Francisco Latino Film Festival (CineMas15) at the Roxie Theater, Landmark’s Opera Plaza Cinemas, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the Mission Cultural Center September 28-October 15, 2023 with 60 films from 15 countries.
The festival opens with MOE, directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela and adapted for the screen by playwright Evelina Fernandez, a story about Moises or Moe, played by Sal Lopez (Full Metal Jacket, Man on Fire), a free-spirited though gravely ill gay theater actor who is planning his ‘one-woman’ show and final going away party.
CineMas15 includes award winning and critically acclaimed documentary, narrative, feature and short films drawn from submissions from throughout Latin America, the United States, and Spain.
It’s a celebration of film and the talented, emerging filmmakers that produce them. LGBTQ films have always been a part of the film festival’s programming and this year is no exception.
