22nd Annual Oakland – Creek to Bay Day

22nd Annual Oakland - Creek to Bay Day

Oakland Creek to Bay Day is part of California and International Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest volunteer day in California and the world!

On Creek to Bay Day 2016, over 1,000 volunteers removed trash and invasive plants along Oakland’s creeks, shoreline, parks, and streets. Volunteers removed over 16,000 pounds of trash (equivalent to 800 garbage bags), and cleared 27,470 pounds of invasive plants.

Statewide, 52,191 volunteers prevented 541,431 pounds of trash and 53,156 pounds of recyclables from entering inland waterways and oceans.

Join your neighbors on Creek to Bay Day to clean and green Oakland’s creeks, shorelines, streets and Lake Merritt. Volunteers will pick up litter, remove invasive plants, and plant California native plants.

To sign up as a site coordinator, register as group or individual to volunteer, or for more information go to www.oaklandcreektobay.org.
