Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to join Creek to Bay Day projects to clean and green Oakland’s creeks, shorelines, parks and neighborhoods. Projects include trash removal, habitat restoration, tree planting, and beautification.
Oakland Creek to Bay Day is part of California and International Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest volunteer day in California and the world! Be a part of it!
On Creek to Bay Day 2017, over 1,700 volunteers removed trash and invasive plants along Oakland’s creeks, shoreline, parks, and streets. Volunteers removed over 27,000 pounds of trash (equivalent to 1,475 garbage bags), and cleared over 42,250 pounds of invasive plants.
Statewide, 63,500 volunteers prevented 800,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from entering inland waterways and oceans (equivalent to 43,700 garbage bags).
