Montuno Productions presents, the 2nd Annual St. Valentine’s Day Concert, part of the Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival concert series. See amazing videos below!
The band, lo mejor de Puerto Rico, makes a powerful, high-energy presentation (that González likens to “a big wave”, (i.e. the Tsunami), with three trumpeters (including González), a trombonist, a complete Latin rhythm section and three singers. With nonstop energy and a wild, constant, high octane swirl of bold.
After a successful Second Annual Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival (held on August 21, 2021 at Rowell Ranch in Castro Valley), Montuno Productions is happy to announce the continuation of the festival-related concert series, with our upcoming Second Annual St. Valentine’s Day Concert, a celebration of love and friendship.
The event, planned as a classy dance concert reminiscent of Old San Juan’s Casa de España concerts in the ’70s and ’80s, will feature three great acts, including jazz vocalist, Jessy Díaz accompanied by four-time Grammy winner, Oscar Hernández (band leader of Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Alma Libre), Edgardo & Candela, and Montuno Productions All-Stars Salsa Project (a special hard salsa ensemble featuring multiple award-winning musicians led and directed by internationally-renowned pianist, composer, and arranger, Israel “Izzy” Tanenbaum).
Radio personality, Luis Medina, will be the show’s DJ and MC.
And just like the first concert, what better place for a concert like this than the majestic 7,500 square-foot California Ballroom, featuring high gold leaf ceiling, a large stage with curtains and spotlights, and a sizable and smooth dance floor. “An invitation to this impressive Art Deco landmark — just a few blocks from picturesque Lake Merritt — is an occasion to look forward to.”
Attendees will also be able to order Cuban food, catered by Yaqueline Y Su Sabor Cubano.
All attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
