“Acción Latina” Mini Mural Festival @ SFMOMA // SF

Chulita Vinyl Club // San Jose 1

Acción Latina will join SFMOMA this weekend as we kick off the Mini Mural Festival! Get free tickets below!

Taking inspiration from this historical connection, the Mini Mural Festival invites three local organizations to commission and host artists to paint murals live in the adjacent outdoor corridor. Music, movement, and other activities will complement the live-painting experiences.

Three partner organizations will each host a festival weekend during which the local artists they’ve commissioned will paint 8’x8’ murals outdoors at SFMOMA. Live music, DJs, and other fun surprises will complement the art experience.

Saturday, July 31–Sunday, Aug 1, 2021

About the Artists

Josué Rojas is a Salvadoran American artist, painter, and muralist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A committed visual creator, Rojas’s aesthetic explorations are a combination of modern and classical influences where fine art meets the urban. His inquiries go beyond providing a mere style — rather, they earnestly seek to bring about a vision, a way of seeing the world. Utilizing elements of pop art, poster art, Chicano- and Mexican-heritage murals, classical painting and drawing, and even digital art/collage, Rojas’s visual work wields the power of the tension within diverse modes of mark making.

DJ Agana is an internationally acclaimed multi-dimensional contemporary artist converging traditional large-scale murals and contemporary street art by painting prolific imagery as calls to action encompassing black liberation, women’s empowerment, and environmental and racial justice issues.
