Mariachi Los Toros
Maricahi los Toros is a group of talented, young, and studied musicians that have performed throughout Southern California. They have been invited to perform at El Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi, in Guadalajara for six consecutive years. Under the direction of their director, Carlos Parra, they have recorded three CD’s, performed a number of concerts, and have performed for television and film. Their performances on September 15 and 16 marks a return for Mariachi los Toros to Redwood City. In 2012, they performed at the Maricahi los Toros Federaccion Jaliscience.
Originally from the State of Michoacan, Alma Rocío began her artistic vocation at the age of 8, participating and winning singing competitions. In 1991 she participated for the first time in the Festival OTI in California, winning 1st place and representing California in the OTI Festival in Miami where she won 2nd place. She is a 5-time winner of the Festival de la Cancion Latinoamericana of California as best interpreter, being most recently the winner in 2009 when she was recognized as the best interpreter. Her interpretive quality, voice and presence through her career have earned her the opportunities to alternate on various occasions with the finest artist such as Vicente Fernandez, Alejandro Fernando, Joan Sebastian, Marco Antonio Solis and Pepe Aguilar to name just a few.
