Every year since 1969, our chapter hosts a conference which celebrates high school students and their journeys through higher education.
The day starts with breakfast, a danza performance, a welcome address, and some words from keynote speakers.
After that, the students head off for their first workshop session. These workshops are meant to expose students to culturally, politically, and educationally relevant information and dialogues on what it is to be a young person of color, and a student entering the world of higher education. After this first session, we feed them lunch and put on a show. A second workshop session gives a whole group of students another chance to attend workshops they missed the first time. After that, we close the conference and the students head back home. The event typically lasts from 8 AM to 2 PM.
The theme of our 47th Annual Raza Day Youth Conference is Juntos We Can, a celebration of what is achieved when different communities come together and organize around their shared and varied issues. At this year’s Raza Day, we will bring you workshops on resources for undocumented/AB-540/

Once a finalized list of workshops is created, we will post it here and send it out to those who have registered, so students can pre-register for the workshops they’d like to attend. Please send any questions our way!
