The Social Fabric project will be presenting a small exposition about the Mexican Rebozo: an emblematic piece that fuses techniques, cultures, time, and ancestral knowledge that stay interlocked like a code within woven fibers.
Those that make rebozos not only are determined to maintain the technique, but also confront competition against neo-liberal markets, a government that does not support artistic activity and creation, and violence that impacts Mexico today.
The exposition will have a presentation of different techniques and styles of Mexican rebozos to teach us how to identify its origin and discontinue economic spending on cheap global knock offs from industrial manufactures.
Entrance is free.
