What is celebrated during Fiestas Patrias?
Fiestas Patrias are the celebrations that take place throughout Mexico to celebrate its independence from the viceregal authority of Spain (Eight Central and Southern Latin American nations also celebrate Independence in September).
Also- On September 18, 1898, La Independencia, the periodical origin of the Philippine Revolution against Spain was first published. The Spanish lyrics of the Philippine National Anthem titled “Filipinas” written by Jose Palma. Palma a poet and soldier was also first published on this date.
On September 22nd, The Emancipation Proclamation was also written.
