About event:

  • see flyer and schedule below.

This year, Mezcalistas launches the first ever Mezcal Week as part of the 2nd annual Mexico in a Bottle tasting event, giving people even more opportunity to experience mezcal.

In addition to a week of special cocktails, mezcal tasting flights and dishes made with mezcal, there are a unique series of events encompassing a cocktail competition, panel discussions centered on issues in the mezcal industry and a very special mezcal paired dinner. And of course there is the culminating tasting event on November 15 at PublicWorksSF where people will have a chance savor more than 60 kinds of mezcal.

Each participating bar and restaurant will be contributing a percentage of sales on the highlighted drinks and dishes to the museum to support its ongoing exhibitions, programming, and care of the collection.

Mezcal Week has partnered with The Mexican Museum, whose permanent collection includes more that 16,500 art objects spanning Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, Popular, Modern and Contemporary Mexican and Latino, and Chicano Art.

About Mezcal:

Mezcal is the embodiment of Mexico. More than just a beverage, it represents more than 500 years of history and culture. But mezcal is the present. It has enjoyed an enormous resurgence in Mexico and the United States exactly because it’s tied so tightly to Mexico’s traditions. Mezcal’s story isn’t just about alcohol, each bottle contains a piece of Mexican culture, and is a living link to history, tradition, art, and music – life and death all in a bottle.
