The ¡Viva Mariachi! Festival at Napa Valley College is Napa County’s first ever Mariachi related educational and cultural event that will enhance musicianship for participants and encourage a culture of academia in our community.

It will also promote the rich heritage and cultural traditions of Mexico through performances by acclaimed high school and college ensembles.

The festival will offer a unique opportunity for students, educators, and for the Napa arts and philanthropic communities to learn how these programs are thriving elsewhere in the U.S.; how they enhance students’ academic performance; and how they foster greater appreciation for this uniquely Mexican musical tradition; all while enriching the cultural vitality of their institutions and their surrounding communities.

A free community concert will conclude the day and we anticipate an audience of 800 at the Napa Valley College main campus.

We are excited to host three youth/student mariachi groups representing the three levels of our nation’s public institutions: high school, community college, and university.
