An inspiring story of stories for migrant children // Redwood City

Hear the acclaimed author and Santa Clara University professor share inspirational stories from his life.

Born in Tlaquepaque, Mexico, Francisco and his family moved to California’s Central Valley where they became part
of the migrant farming community.

From humble beginnings, through his struggles to learn English, his inspirational life story took him to Columbia University where he earned advanced degrees.

His four-book series—The Circuit, Breaking Through, Reaching Out, Taking Hold– has been included in the American Library Association Booklist’s 50 Best Young Adult Books of All Time.
