La Patronal presents a joyful celebration of the traditional “fiestas populares” (town fairs) that take place in little rural villages across Peru.
Fiestas in which the town families gather to celebrate tradition surrounded by fireworks, dancing and magical-religious images.
La Patronal are the sons and daughters of rural band musicians, who fuse an organic background in folk culture with formal music studies to present a traditional repertory with an urban accent.
One of the members is an actor/dancer portraying the visual aspects of the traditions they explore musically. bringing their performances to life with the incorporation of visual aspects of ‘fiestas populares’, including masks and traditional dance.
