About show:

Journey south of the border with ¡Las Voces de México!

Maestro Urs Leonhardt Steiner and the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus (GGSOC) present a musical adventure featuring favorites like Copland’s “El Salón México,” Moncayo’s “Huapango,” and the world premiere of “Indigenous Symphony” by Oaxacan composer, Carlos Pazos.

Top it off with danzones from SF’s own Anthony Blea Afro Cuban Sextet, and a Mariachi Sing Along, and you have a perfect Sunday afternoon adventure with the GGSOC!

¡Las Voces de México! is part of the Golden Gate Symphony’s ongoing Beyond the Border Walls Initiative. The program throws open the doors of the formal concert hall to underrepresented audiences, musicians and composers and provides 300+ free tickets to every Golden Gate Symphony event.
