I am honored to be invited to join the Consul General of Mexico in San Francisco, to celebrate El Grito de Independencia here at City Hall!
This historical day commemorates the Mexican War for Independence and celebrates Latino culture – something rich and beautiful that we get to take part in everyday here in SF. Our Latino community has contributed in numerous ways to our City from art and film to food, music, and so much more.
City Hall will be lit in blue and white this evening to celebrate the National Day of Guatemala, Honduras and El-Salvador; and City Hall will also be lit in the colors of the Mexican flag beginning tomorrow, in celebration of the National Day of Mexico.
