About this Event:
You will have the opportunity to hear from Latina podcasters about their journey to starting their podcast and discovering what they hope to achieve with it. Get advice on starting your own podcast or lining up an interview with your favorite podcaster. Find out how having their own podcast has developed their sense of self.
It’s extremely important that we utilize all opportunities to uplift our voices and the voices of other Latinas in our community.

Alex Hall Rocha – In My [Blank] Opinion
Alex Hall Rocha is currently a Product Specialist at Facebook in the Bay Area where she’s recently celebrated two years at the company. Teaming up with a longtime colleague and friend, Alex created In My [Blank] Opinion, a podcast about the media and pop culture and the lessons we can take from what we watch. She attended Santa Clara University and graduated with a double major in Political Science and Communication and a minor in French and has lived in the Bay Area for 8+ years, the longest she’s ever stayed in one region after years of moving back and forth between Mexico and the US.
Adriana Flores Ragade – LatinxAmerica
LatinxAmerica is focused on highlighting catalysts that are using, leveraging, creating or investing in technology that can positively impact the Latinx community. Experts cover topics ranging from education, health, diversity, and civic engagement to financial stability/wealth creation.
Mia Perez – Real Conversations with Mia Perez
SAG Actress, Model, Producer, Podcast and TV host, Mia Perez is a fresh voice for Latinas and audiences all over the world. Using her grit, resilience and fortitude, she has carved a unique platform for herself empowering those who have been underdogs to see themselves as the champions of their own lives.
Her distinct approach marries heart, health, kindness, and candid conversations. Her show “Real Conversations with Mia Perez (Real with Mia) started as a passion podcast and has evolved into an extremely popular virtual TV show airing on Roku, Amazon Fire, AppleTV, and many other social media platforms.
As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual abuse, Mia founded V.I.V.A. Women’s Empowerment Community, where she uses the grace of her life story and other women’s to pay-it-forward to help others overcome their barriers. She currently lives in the Bay Area and is a proud mother to a 13 year old daughter who is her life.
Rosanna Alvarez – Hella Chingona Podcast
Rosanna Alvarez is the founder of the Hella Chingona Podcast. As consultant, educator, and multidisciplinary creative entrepreneur, she is fiercely committed to thriving in authenticity, and her life’s work is grounded in her mission to embrace personal power through creative inspiration. As an educator, she has taught at the high school and college level, while also offering a range of professional development workshops and consulting services in partnership with various organizations and individuals throughout Santa Clara County. Her love of story-telling and amplifying the collective power of community also led to her becoming the co-founder and editor of Eastside Magazine, which aims to highlight the deeply rooted history, cultural vibrancy, and assets of the East San José community. She teaches Women’s Studies at De Anza College and Chicana/o Studies at San José State University. She is also a native of East San José, an outspoken and art-loving entrepreneurial Chicana, the first-born of nine siblings, a mother of three fierce guerreras (little warriors), and a trucker’s wife. Her podcast speaks to her multifacetedness and serves as an ongoing invitation for others to center themselves in the collective fabric of how our stories intertwine.
