Saturday AT 11 AM PST – 12:30 PM PST
Where: Facebook.

BACCE takes the So Soul San Francisco Black Arts Salon Series online with interviews and stories of Black artistry from around the globe.

Each month the Salon Series features interviews with artists working outside of the United States, offering an exciting and unique look at what’s happening everywhere. In January, So Soul hosts actor and playwright, Nambi E. Kelley.

Nambi E. Kelley currently co-stars on Coronatown, airing on Amazon, and Chicago Med on NBC.

Most recently she appeared on stage as Nya in MacArthur Genius Dominique Morriseau’s Pipeline. She also played the role of Risa to critical acclaim in the Goodman Theatre’s production of Two Trains Running, having been nominated for a Black Theatre Alliance Award and a Broadway Theatre World Award for her work.

Kelley returns from Singapore where she co-adapted and performed in The Book of Living and Dying at the Singapore Arts Festival, commissioned by the Finger Players Theatre (Singapore) and Teatri Sbagliati (Italy).

Ms. Kelley also served as a season 3 writer on Showtime’s The Chi, and is working with the estate of Dr. Maya Angelou to develop a bio play based on her life for Broadway. She has also penned the plays Jazz, Native Son, and Xtigone.
