Music in the Park will be back in a big way when Grammy Award-winning rockers Los Lobos will play the first concert of the summer series in downtown San Jose on June 24.
The series has been on the comeback trail since being revived in 2013 and last year seemed to draw a good mix of downtown workers, residents and families to three shows at Plaza de Cesar Chavez.
You can expect that there will be a good crowd for Los Lobos, who rose to fame with their 1987 cover of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” and are touring to support their new album, “Gates of Gold.”
The 5:30 p.m. show at Plaza de Cesar Chavez will be opened by South Bay blues guitarist Maxx Cabello, Jr., and stay tuned for announcements about the remaining three shows in the series.
Advance tickets for $10 at www.musicintheparksj.com, but \price jumps up to $15 at event. Kids 12-and-under get in free.
