“Cuevo is able to fuse the sounds of both sides of the border in a way that’s so organic and natural, it makes you believe that they were created to be played together. These tracks transport you from romance to melancholy without leaving behind that dark and poetic aspect that in Cuevo becomes a fascination.” La Banda Elastica 07/03/14
Alborde Magazine had the following to say about the new album: “Few artists within the Latin alternative scene can sustain a sound like Cuevo can. His rhythms remind us that, even in these uncertain times, you can still make an innovative rock & roll record.” 06/05/14
This rocking album, heavy on riffs, powerful bass and eclectic drums was mixed by Grammy Award winners Sacha Triujeque (Gustavo Cerati, Ely Guerra) and Alfonso Rodenas (Los Tigres del Norte), and mastered by Tom Baker (Bajofondo, Nine Inch Nails).
Upon its release, “Pajaros” has already started making waves, getting exclusive airplay and premieres in some of the most important independent radio stations in the country, including KEXP (El Sonido), and Los Angeles’ own KPFK (Travel Tips for Aztlan) and world renowned KCRW (Liza Richardson). Upon interviewing Cuevo on air for his Latin alternative show on KPFK, DJ Mark Torres had this to say about the new album: “Cuevo Perez is a huge talent. He is among the artists that make me want to throw all my radio’s in the ocean. Cuevo is the perfect fusion of music, art and poetry.”
