Mariachi music is music of the people – celebrating the challenges and growth of the Mexican people since the 19th century. Redwood City’s Latino population is over 40%, with sister cities in Colima and Ciudad Guzman. Sabor a Mexico is an opportunity to experience mariachi and a part of Mexico’s culture and history.

Mariachi Los Reyes de Los Angeles is one of the most sought after mariachi groups in Los Angeles. Composed of ten, trained and experienced musicians, this young group is filled with talent and passion for this vernacular music. They have shared the stage with a number of famous Mexican, US and Latin American singers and celebrities. Mariachi Los Reyes revels in the tradition of the mariachi bravado, mixed with deep, soul feelings. Listening to Mariachi Los Reyes will take you back in time, and refresh all your senses in a night to remember.

Coro Redes y Cantos de Chapala is a choir from Chapala, Jalisco. The chorus was formed in 1980, and in 1986, was officially recognized by the Secretary of Culture for the Government of Jalisco, Mexico. This year, Redes y Cantos de Chapala celebrates 30 years of singing in Jalisco, and in many international locations. The purpose and goal of Redes y Cantos is to recover, develop and preserve native songs and music. Their music includes ballads that have been sung since colonial times, songs of the independence movement, from the French intervention period, as well as dances and stories of Mexican history.

To really make this a memorable experience, Angelica’s will be creating a special menu of Mexican dishes. Dinner will be served one hour before the concerts and is not included in price of ticket.
