The Ecology Center will host the Farmers’ Market Salsa Festival, an outdoor live Latin Music and Environmental event on May 21, 2022 at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Park in Berkeley for an afternoon of environmental and cultural experiences delivered through music, dance and food.
The festival will bring together the community at the Ecology Center’s first festival event since the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020.
Since 2018 the event has become an annual touchpoint for the Ecology Center to engage with artists and provide critical community culture-centric experience for the City of Berkeley and Bay Area residents.
It allows the Ecology to keep its Farmers Market ecosystem vibrant and to fulfill its ultimate mission to inspire and build a sustainable, healthy, and just future for the East Bay, California and beyond. With a strong environmental message, the festival will be filled with activities meant to help people get in touch with their individual ability to make a real, lasting impact in the ongoing climate crisis.
“We are thrilled to partner with so many leaders in the rich Bay Area Salsa community”, said Ecology Center Executive Director Martin Bourque “and to host a space for salsa fans new and old to enjoy our Farmers Markets and the Civic Center Park.”
