San Jose Multicultural Artists Guild’s (SJMAG) annual Dia de los Muertos Procession and Festival is the longest-running Day of the Dead event in San José and the South Bay.
Take part in the 21st Annual Procession & Festival on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at San Jose State University in Downtown San José, behind the Martin Luther King Jr. Library.
The free, family-friendly celebration honors the true spirit of the Mexican holiday now observed worldwide. Laugh with and remember a loved one through a colorful, costumed procession to kick off the Festival, and teatro, music, and a Children’s Culture Camp throughout the day. Bring a photo or an offering for the community altar, or pick up items from the vendor market for your altar at home. Walgreen’s will also be on hand to offer free flu shots.
The 30-minute procession begins at 11am at City View Plaza on Market Street, across the street from Plaza Cesar Chavez, and ends at the Festival behind MLK Library
