A Day-long celebration of Mariachi music and culture, the 6th Annual Mariachi Festival will feature internationally acclaimed Mariachi bands. Mariachi music is a fundamental part of Mexican heritage and the music creates an atmosphere of cultural and community celebration.

Proceeds from the Mariachi festival help support CSUMB and National Steinbeck Center programs that educate and inspire such as:
NSC – Steinbeck Young Authors Program: This program is currently in its 14th year and provides opportunities for students to explore the excitement of writing by discovering the fiction of John Steinbeck, with a focus on the Red Pony. On the way of writing, Students experience a hands-on demonstration on horse care with a local veterinarian; enhance their writing skills by working with individuals coaches; and discover the work of John Steinbeck and the National Steinbeck Center. Winning essays are published in the Gabilan Journal, Over 20,000 students have participated from public and private schools throughout California.
CSUMB – Teacher Pathway Program: With a dire shortage of credentialed teachers in Monterey County, CSUMB along with Hartnell College developed the teacher pathway Program for students to become teachers in their home communities. The program provides guaranteed seats in required courses, scholarships, stipends, financial support, & mentoring.
For the VIP experience you will be able to sample Herencia Histórico, a Tequila age for 15 years and Tequila aguijón with edible gold.
