Sintonía (in harmony, in Spanish), a new Oakland-based flamenco dance troupe founded in 2018 by Fanny Ara and Marina Elana, presents its inaugural production, Tattooed, an experimental flamenco dance performance about survivors’ strength and resilience.

Guest artist and local flamenco great, Yaelisa, and some of Spain’s foremost flamenco artists and musicians will join Sintonía!
Internationally acclaimed flamenco artist, José Maldonado, joins Tattooed as stage director and collaborator.
A rising star and innovator in flamenco’s theatrical scene, Maldonado has worked for the world’s leading flamenco artists and won the “Artistic Revelation” award at the 2019 Festival de Jerez.
Collaborators also include Grammy nominated composer and multi-instrumentalist, Gonzalo Grau, who is creating original compositions for this production, and Emmy Award winning guest artist, Yaelisa. Tattooed will also feature some of Spain’s premiere flamenco artists, including singer, Matías López “El Mati” (recent winner of one of Spain’s most prestigious flamenco awards “La Lampera Minera 2019”), percussionist, David Chupete, and violinist, Ernesto Briceño.
