San Mateo Fair 2019

The theme of the 2019 Fair is “Celebrating the Best of the Bay” and runs June 8 through June 16th.

The annual fair represents a celebration of our community’s talent, interests, innovations and rich agricultural and artistic heritage. The San Mateo County Fair strives to provide a diverse experience through education, inspiration and entertainment.

Closing weekend ahead for San Mateo County Fair!

98° and Dia de la Feria concerts slated for final weekend.

The temperature will not soar above the 90s but the music will be 98° on closing weekend of the San Mateo County Fair.

Boy band fans get ready because 98° takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the San Mateo County Fair. “I’ll admit that I’m one of the many looking forward to seeing Nick and Drew Lachey on stage,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Event Center and Fair. “It’s going to be a really fun concert.”

While reserved seats for the 98° concert are sold out, 1,500 free seats in Fiesta Hall are available on an open-seating, space-available basis. In addition, the concert will be simulcast on a jumbo screen at the outdoor Blue Moon Blues, Brews and Beachballs Stage.

Also planned for closing weekend, Father’s Day, is Dia de la Feria.

This year’s lineup features:
Los Dinnos (2:00 to 3:00 p.m.); Grupo Bryndis (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.); Liberación (5:00 to 6:00 p.m.); Rocio y Su Sonora (4:00 to 5:00 p.m.); and Alacranes Musical (5:30 to 6:30 p.m.)

“Our fair’s new attractions have been very popular,” said Stoehr. All of the new attractions will be open throughout the weekend including the Selfie Museum, sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle, Aussie Kingdom, an Australian animal exhibit, and the Radio.com Silent Disco.

The award-winning San Mateo County Fair is the Peninsula’s premier community event for family fun and entertainment.

Kangaroos will be hopping. Disco fans will be donning headphones. Friends will be snapping selfies. Glass art will be created from fire. Roaming percussionists will be drumming on trash cans. Pigs will be racing. Chinese acrobats will be balancing. Butterflies will be flittering. Drones will be flying. Cows will be mooing. Rides will be twirling. And, food for every palate will be frying. While the grand opening day of the San Mateo County Fair is less than two weeks away, another important day is Friday, June 7, the day before the fair opens. June 7 is the deadline to benefit from big savings on discounted admission and discounted unlimited rides.

“Fairgoers are encouraged to take advantage of the buy-in-advance savings, but time is running out,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Event Center and Fair. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at sanmateocountyfair.com or in person at the San Mateo County Event Center, 2495 S. Delaware (weekday business hours) now through June 7.
