Join the San Jose Wind Symphony’s for “Fiesta,” a vibrant celebration of the rich musical heritage of Mexico, conducted by Dr David Vickerman.
This exciting concert features an array of music that define the spirit of Mexico, from traditional music, through classical to contemporary works by composers by renowned Mexican composers Silvestre Revueltas, Nubia Jaime-Donjuan, Genaro Codina, and Juan Pablo Contreras.
Our guest artists are Mariachi San José, directed by Dr. José R. Torres-Ramos.Our guest artists, Mariachi San José, are a performance ensemble in the School of Music at San José State University. Directed by Dr. José R. Torres-Ramos, they will perform repertoire predominantly from Mexico’s música ranchera genre Dr Torres-Ramos is an Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology and Mariachi in the School of Music at San José State University (SJSU). His research examines how lived experience is musically ritualized within sound, embodiment, and performance in Latin American milieus, with a specialized focus on Mexico’s modern mariachi tradition.

$25 Adult; $20 senior.
Child / student through college age free but need to register online.
All concert attendees are advised to purchase their tickets in advance, print them out, and bring them to the concert. A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase at the door, but we strongly recommend buying tickets in advance.
The afternoon concert venue will be at the easy access, easy parking, McAfee Performing Arts Center in Saratoga.
This is a chance to experience wonderful music in an intimate 550 concert venue.
