Orquesta Taino:

Inspired by bands and individuals such as Ray Barretto, Tito Puente, Willie Rosario, Eddie Palmieri and many others, Orquesta Taino has developed into one of the most solid, hard-hitting salsa bands in the Bay Area. Orquesta Taino began as a project to deliver salsa and latin jazz in August of 2010. The concept is very simple: a nine piece band with the sound and elegant sophistication of a big orchestra. The band is led by percussionist and lead vocalist Aaron Routtenberg and features some of the best musicians in the Bay Area music scene. With a strong vocal section, swinging rhythm section and blazing horn section that will make you move, we invite you to experience a musical masterpiece that you won’t soon forget! Ya lo ves, que viene Taino!

Latin Rhythm Boys:

The brainchild of brothers Earl and Henry Miranda Jr., Latin Rhythm Boys has evolved into a powerhouse of high energy Puerto Rican music that includes salsa as well as their specialty Jibaro sound. Reminiscent of the FANIA All Stars, these bad boys of Latin Music are taking the world by storm. The phenomenal specialty band combines expertise and sounds acquired throughout the Bay Area, Puerto Rico and New York City, continuing to captivate their fans and audiences with their unique musical style and stage presence. They have released three albums to date – Musica De Mis Padres in 2005, Year of The Cuatro in 2013, and Celebrando – 60 Years Est. in 2018, featuring multiple award-winning invited guest artists such as Grammy Award winner Johnny Polanco on trombone and tres guitar, Artie Webb on flute, three-time Grammy Award winner Willy Torres, as well as other Latin music luminaries like Chino Nuñez and Jimmy Bosch, among others.

La Mixta Criolla:

A dynamic Bay Area ensemble with deep roots in the creole music of the Caribbean. Blending instruments and styles from diverse Afro-Latin traditions, this hard swinging septet has captivated dancers and music lovers everywhere with soulful performances of singular strength and beauty. Their repertoire of originals and classic tunes features a variety of Afro-Caribbean grooves from plena, bomba, aguinaldo and seis, to cumbia, merengue, rumba and salsa. La Mixta was founded by percussionist, singer and songwriter Héctor Lugo and features an all-star cast with Román Ito Carillo on bongó, pandero and barril, Javier Navarrette on congas and cajón, Ayla Dávila on bass, Camilo Landau on electric cuatro, Keyla Badillo on vocals, and Pedro Pastrana on güícharo and Puerto Rican cuatro. Bring your dancing shoes and let La Mixta take you on a musical ride through el Caribe.

DJ Leydis:

Born and raised in Cuba, she combines contemporary hits with a distinct fusion of Latin flavors, R&B classics, and roots reggae blends. Involved in the Cuban hip-hop movement since its inception, DJ Leydis helped organize some of the country’s most respected and best-attended events and community programs. In 2005 she co-founded Omegas Kilay, a hip-hop theater collective in Havana focused on presenting the poetry, music, experiences, and perspectives of artists such as DJ Yari, Danay Suarez, Nono, La LLave De IPG, La Negra and Las Krudas. DJ Leydis co-created the first all-female DJ mixtape in Cuba, conveying a special new flavor and spirit of Cuba to the world. In 2006 DJ Leydis migrated to the United States to expand upon her work as a DJ and has since worked with Erykah Badu, Questlove of the Roots, and other iconic US-based artists.
