About Hector Gonzales de Cunco:
At the age of 12, Héctor González de Cunco began taking photographs as an assistant to a photographer priest and, since then, he has never left his camera. At the age of 22, he was a photographer for the DICAP label, which released the records of Quilapayún, Inti Illimani, Ángel and Isabel Parra, ILLAPU, Víctor Jara, Rolando Alarcón, and the long and rich etceteta of the time.
He has been a photographer for press, record labels, theater, fashion and advertising in Europe and Latin America. In 1992, he was the official photographer of the Chilean Pavilion at the Universal Expo Seville ’92. He returned to Chile in 2010 and since then has dedicated himself to projects such as “Vivir y morir en $antiago de $hil€”, which portrays the social contradictions of Chile’s capital city. He currently conducts workshops, classes and photography talks in schools, colleges and cultural centers around the world.
