Described by the New York Times as a musician whose “lyrics unfurl with a poetic magnetism that blooms in Spanish,” Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada’s debut solo album, Marchita, showcases her introspective lyricism that confronts heartbreak and what emerges after anguish.
Estrada grew up singing son jarocho music in a family of musicians and instrument makers and later studied jazz at a conservatory before entering the Latin alternative music scene in performances alongside peers Natalia Lafourcade, Mon Laferte, and Julieta Venegas.
