About comedy group:
Vanessa Gonzalez is originally from Texas and was voted “Best Stand-up Comic” in the Austin Chronicle before her move to Los Angeles.
She was a breakout as one of the New Faces of the 2017 Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and subsequently created and starred in a web series called “Ms. Vanessa” for Mas Mejor, a digital platform that is part of Lorne Michael’s company Broadway Video.
She has been featured on TruTV’s “Laff Mobb‚” “Laff Tracks,” HBO Latino‚ Entre Nous, and her half-hour “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents” special premiered on Oct. 18th, 2019.
In “Gentrif*cked” Emmy-nominated sketch troupe, The Latino Comedy Project examines the causes and consequences of gentrification as it affects communities across America.
The LCP asks:
What happens when a community’s piñata shops are demolished and replaced with vegan cat-friendly coffeehouses?
When neighborhood flea markets are transformed overnight into luxury condos?
When Mexicans are replaced with obsessively dog-walking paddleboard enthusiasts?
