1. Paquito D’Rivera Quintet.
Paquito D’Rivera Quintet brings an electrifying fusion of jazz and Latin rhythms to SFJAZZ, celebrating 70 years of extraordinary music from the renowned woodwind virtuoso and Latin Jazz icon Paquito D’Rivera, a 2005 NEA Jazz Master and multi-GRAMMY award-winner. Known for energetic performances, the group blends multinational rhythms with top-tier musicianship.
He is a founding member of Orquesta Cubana Música Moderna and later the legendary ensemble Irakere in 1973 with pianist Chucho Valdés and trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.
Enjoy an explosive mix of jazz, rock, and traditional Cuban rhythms.

2. Dayramir González’s jazz-meets-danzón tunes with his stellar quartet and Alfredo Rodríguez’s epic compositions for his trio turn this concert into a sweeping showcase of Cuba’s bravura piano tradition.
A double dose of Cuban piano pyrotechnics features two of most spectacular improvisers to emerge from the island in the 21st century.

At the center of a jazz dynasty that encompasses Havana, New York, and Mexico City, GRAMMY Award-winning piano virtuoso, composer and bandleader Arturo O’Farrill leads his dynamic eight-piece Latin Jazz Ensemble for this SFJAZZ debut.
